Custom AI Video Privacy: How Discreet Ordering Actually Works
Privacy questions about custom AI video usually arrive in one sentence: "who can see this?" It is the right question, and the honest answer is a list — here is exactly what exists, where it lives, who has access, and for how long. Anything less specific than a list is marketing.
The Short Version
CarlosVideo18+ produces fictional 18+ characters only, never real people. Your brief, references and delivered files are used to produce your order and nothing else. Nothing is published to a portfolio, social channel or showcase without written permission. Payment can be made in crypto. Files are handed over directly and can be deleted on request.
What Exists at Each Stage
Before you order. Only what you type into the brief and any reference images you attach. There is no account requirement beyond an email or contact handle for delivery.
During production. The brief, the reference frames, the generated shots and the edit project. These live in the production workspace, access-limited to the people working on your order. They are not shared with other clients, affiliates or partners.
At delivery. Finished files, delivered through the channel you specify. From that point you control the copies.
After delivery. Working files are retained only as long as needed for revision support and re-delivery. If you ask for deletion, the order materials are removed and we confirm when it is done.
Nothing in that list is unusual — it is the baseline any studio should be able to state plainly. If a vendor cannot tell you what happens to your files after delivery, treat that as an answer.
Fictional Characters Only, By Policy
Every subject we produce is a fictional character. Real people are never used as the basis for a character, which matters twice: it keeps the work free of identity and consent problems, and it means there is no real person's likeness circulating anywhere in the pipeline.
If your project description references a real person, we will decline or rework it into a fictional character. That is a hard rule, not a preference.
Payment Discretion
Payments are a common privacy concern, particularly for international clients. Two practical points:
- Crypto is accepted alongside card payment, so you can settle without linking a purchase to a bank statement description. See Pay for AI Video with Crypto for how the flow works end to end.
- Billing descriptors stay neutral. The descriptor on a statement does not describe the contents of your project.
Paying in crypto also removes a settlement delay, which is a scheduling benefit as much as a privacy one — the project starts sooner. Turnaround details are in How Long Does a Custom AI Video Take?.
Delivery Channels and File Handling
Delivery goes wherever you want it: direct download link, encrypted transfer, or a channel you name. Practical advice on our side of the transaction:
- Use a dedicated email address if you want order traffic separated from your primary inbox.
- Ask for a time-limited download link rather than a permanent one.
- Request deletion of working files once you have confirmed the final delivery is complete and verified.
Files are delivered as standard MP4 exports — master plus the aspect-ratio variants you ordered. Nothing is watermarked with anything other than what you request.
What We Will Not Do
The privacy policy is short because the exclusions are short:
- No portfolio publication without written permission.
- No social posts, showcase reels or testimonial use of your project.
- No sharing your brief, references or files with third parties.
- No real-person subjects, ever.
- No re-use of your project as a sample for another client.
For the same reasons, we do not ask you for identifying information beyond what delivery requires.
How to Evaluate a Vendor's Privacy Claims
Three questions separate a real policy from a paragraph of reassurance:
- Where do files live during production, and who can open them? You want a specific answer — a named workspace with limited access, not "we take security seriously."
- What happens to them after delivery? Retention period and deletion procedure, in plain language.
- Do you publish client work? The answer should be no unless you sign something.
Ask these before you pay, not after. The same discipline applies to evaluating the work itself — a quality rubric is in How to Judge AI Video Quality, and an overview of what the pipeline involves is in AI Video Production Process Explained.
If You Need More Than the Baseline
For higher-sensitivity projects the standard additions are an NDA before the brief is shared, staged delivery where files are handed over in parts, and immediate deletion of intermediate generations rather than keeping them for re-delivery. All three are straightforward to arrange when you raise them at ordering time — raising them after generation has started is much harder.
Privacy During Revisions
Revision rounds are the phase people forget about, because a feedback note is itself content about your project. The same rules apply to it: notes stay inside the production workspace, are read only by the people working on your order, and are not reused anywhere.
Two practical habits help here. First, describe problems rather than re-stating sensitive context — "shot 3 framing is too wide, tighten to a medium" carries everything a studio needs and nothing you would rather not repeat. Second, batch your notes into one message per round instead of several, so the project generates fewer separate artefacts and fewer threads exist in an inbox.
Intermediate generations from earlier passes are working material, not deliverables. They are kept only as long as they are useful for making the correction you asked for, and can be purged on request along with the rest of the order materials.
References, Likeness and the "No Real People" Rule
The fictional-character rule has a second consequence that is worth stating explicitly: you should not send photographs of real people as character references. A reference image of a real person puts a real likeness into the pipeline even if the output is nominally fictional, and we will decline or replace it with a constructed character.
This is not a legal technicality we invented — it is the boundary that keeps the entire operation simple. Reference material should be artwork, illustration, stock imagery or a description you wrote yourself. If a project brief arrives built around a real person, the options are to redesign the character or to take the work elsewhere.
For the surrounding pipeline, AI Video Production Process Explained walks through what happens between the brief and the delivered files.
What Discreet Does and Does Not Mean
"Discreet" gets used loosely in this industry, so it is worth being precise about the claims. Discreet means the transaction does not advertise itself: neutral billing descriptor, no identifying material in delivery subject lines, no public record connecting your order to your public identity, and no published sample derived from your project.
Discreet does not mean untraceable, unaccountable or lawless. A studio that tells you it keeps no records at all is telling you it cannot re-deliver your files, cannot honour a deletion request with confirmation, and cannot answer a dispute. The useful promise is narrow handling with a defined retention policy, not absence of records.
It also does not replace your own habits. Anything you post publicly after delivery — screenshots, uploads, the clip itself — re-enters the public domain under your control, and no vendor policy follows it there. Keep the delivered files in a folder you control, use the dedicated address for order traffic if you want the separation to hold, and treat the download link as temporary rather than a permanent home for the material.
FAQ
Who can see my order?
Only the people producing it. Your brief, references and files stay in the production workspace with access limited to the team working on your order — no other clients, no affiliates, no partners.
Are my files ever published anywhere?
Not without written permission. Nothing goes to a portfolio, showcase, social channel or testimonial. If you want a project shown, you approve it explicitly first; the default is never.
Do you work with real people?
No. Every subject is a fictional 18+ character. Real people are never used as the basis for a character, and requests referencing real people are declined or rewritten as fictional.
Can I pay with crypto?
Yes. Crypto is accepted alongside card payment, which keeps the purchase off a bank statement description and removes settlement delay so the project starts sooner. The full flow is covered in our crypto payment guide.
What happens to my files after delivery?
Working files are kept only as long as needed for revisions and re-delivery. Ask for deletion at any point and the order materials are removed, with confirmation sent once it is done.
How do I keep order emails separate from my main inbox?
Use a dedicated address for delivery notifications and ask for a time-limited download link instead of a permanent one. No account beyond a contact handle is required to receive your files.
